Talk:Audio Encoding

Necessity?
Wikipedia has much more comprehensive articles on the subject. Isn't it a bit silly to create a smaller page on aunrelated wiki when we could just link to Wikipedia?

- The main reason for this page ( And the video encoding one ) is to provide gp2x-specific information (ie following rule one). At the moment this is obviously not so - but information on different supported codecs, recommended bitrates and encoder settings and so forth should prove useful. That, and it was requested on Talk:Video Encoding.
- The next things that I want to do are add a discussion of video and audio bitrates that are the right quality for the gp2x ( on the respective pages) - this is a pretty commonly asked question, as well as working out what bitrates work on the different play levels on the movie player (ie Save, Normal and Full)
- If you can recommend any specific programs for audio reencoding (Preferably not commandline, and preferably one that keeps id3 tags when transcoding) then that would be great :)
